The best tour we’ve had on our vacation to Scotland and Ireland ((May 2024). Ryan provided door to door service for our party of six in his spacious van. He also provided snacks, drinks and a sampling of whiskey! Ryan lives in Inverness so he knows the history and the best spots to explore. We did the outlander tour which included clava cairns, Cawdor castle, fort George and the Culloden Battlefield. Something to see for everyone in our party of six. Nothing beats a private tour with a knowledgeable and witty guide! We highly recommend Sgurr tours!

Ryan with Sgùrr Tours was extremely knowledgeable about the history or Scotland and its families. He was able to keep an 11 year old boy engaged which is a feat in itself and treated us like family from the beginning. I wouldn’t want another guide if and when we return for more exploration. Ryan made sure my son and I were comfortable the entire time and let us explore at our own pace while teaching us the wonderful history of Scotland. If you want a tour where you may be forgotten or left with questions unanswered go somewhere else. If you’d like a guide that is friendly and feels like a dear friend Ryan is definitely the man for the job. 5 stars and would give 6 if available. Can’t wait to return to plan another tour with Sgùrr Tours. Happy travels!

We had such a wonderful and amazing time on our 2 day custom Sgurr tour with Ryan last week!!! Best 2 days out of our 10 days in Scotland!! My request was to see Glencoe on the way from Inverness to Edinburgh, and Ryan revealed to us so much more of the countryside and other destinations – including Midhope Castle – than I thought possible!!

Ryan shared with us his high level of knowledge about Scotland along with many interesting historical stories. He is personable and well spoken, ready and willing to answer all our questions. He even taught us some Gaelic! We were very comfortable during our journey in a Mercedes Benz van. Also have to mention very responsive to e mails and questions before our tour.

Therefore, I highly recommend Sgurr tours – a 5 star event and beyond!!
