Embark on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking West Coast Highlands. Our private tours offer a luxurious and personalised experience, showcasing the very best of Scotland’s stunning scenery and rich history. From ancient ruins to iconic fortresses, this itinerary is designed to immerse you in the heart of the Highlands.

A Morning of Tranquility: Beauly Priory and Rogie Falls

We begin our West Coast adventure at the serene Beauly Priory. These 13th-century ruins offer a peaceful start to the day, allowing you to soak in the atmosphere of a site that has stood for over 700 years.

Following our visit to the priory, we discover the hidden gem of Rogie Falls. This captivating waterfall is nestled within lush woodland. You can take a leisurely stroll to the suspension bridge and viewing platform to marvel at the cascading waters, which are particularly spectacular after a spot of Highland rain.

Scottish Craftsmanship and Coastal Charm

We then travel to Lochcarron Weavers, where you can immerse yourself in the world of traditional Scottish textiles. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the intricate art of weaving and admire the exquisite craftsmanship of genuine tartan and tweed.

For lunch, we visit Plockton, a picturesque fishing village often referred to as the “Jewel of the Highlands.” You can enjoy a delicious meal overlooking the harbour, which is famous for its palm trees and tranquil, sheltered waters.

The Majestic Eilean Donan Castle

No tour of the West Coast would be complete without a visit to Eilean Donan Castle. This iconic fortress is perched on a rocky islet where three sea lochs meet. You will have ample time to explore its historic chambers and admire the breathtaking views that have made this one of the most photographed castles in the world.

A Journey Through Time in Glen Shiel

Our return journey takes us through the dramatic landscapes of Glen Shiel. This region is steeped in history and natural beauty, being the site of the famous Battle of Glen Shiel in 1719. We will stop to capture photographs of the towering mountains known as the Five Sisters of Kintail before continuing to the Invermoriston Old Bridge. This historic stone structure spans the River Moriston and provides a perfect, peaceful retreat for a quick break.

Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle

We conclude our day with a drive along the banks of the world-famous Loch Ness. We will pause to take in the majestic ruins of Urquhart Castle, which sits prominently on the water’s edge. Keep a watchful eye on the loch for its most famous resident as we head back towards Inverness.
